From the book:
Whispers of Promise
In a day when dishonesty is often almost taken as a matter of course,
a person whose strength of character
demands honesty
can stand out in a crowd.
Sometimes it’s the kind of standing out…
that leads to uncomfortable situations.
But there are things worth standing for,
even if they have a price.
Sometimes that price is just what brings the blessing.

What are you standing for today?

From the book:
Whispers of Promise
We may not reach around the world to people.
But that doesn’t mean God doesn’t value all we do.
Though each believer may only touch a few lives,
that impact may go far beyond what can be seen.
In the end,
God may show the whole world that the blessed silver-tongued saint
who lived down the street was priceless to Him and His work.
—————————
Go forth today and do good…
don’t worry about who you reach but how you reach
those around you.
Be gentle
Be kind
and listen for those opportunities to ‘show Jesus today.’

Mother Theresa once said,
“I am a little pencil in the hand of a writing God
who is sending a love letter to the world.”
Lord God help me to remember when I am writing here
that this is for you…
about you…
and because of you.
You brought me to this place
this
blog space
You helped give birth to the thought and to the reason
and you gave me purpose for this time in my life.
Help me to always reflect your LOVE
Your life to others and
Your patience
as we share and learn more of you every day.

A New Day
Finish every day and be done with it.
You have done what you could…Tomorrow is a new day;
begin it well
and serenely
and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with
your old nonsense.
This day is all that is good and fair.
It is too dear, with its hopes and invitations,
to waste a moment on yesterday.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
I found a new ‘set’ of devotional books and I will be posting little encouraging notes from them off and on. I hope you will be blessed and challenged by the readings.
Have a wonderful… NEW day.

The other thing we like to do on mini trips out is to visit pioneer cemeteries.
The history and stories create all kinds of questions for me.
Family’s laid to rest placed alongside each other by age.
Perhaps babies or young children died because of the kind of illnesses they faced and the lack of care they would receive.
The aged old stories of wagon trains and walking by foot on trails so dense with foliage. I am not sure how they would forge through the rough terrain.
To capture the history of these old sacred places is both fascinating and thought provoking.
Times are so different now.
May we learn to slow down and notice …
the stories we miss all around us if we would just look and pay attention.
