I have been praying.
Waiting and listening.
The word that has come to me over and over
seems to be
the word I am settling on.
It ministers to my spirit and my heart.
My people will abide in peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings,
and in quiet resting places.

but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of
a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.

God, my shepherd!
I don’t need a thing.
You have bedded me down in lush meadows,
you find me quiet pools to drink from.
True to your word,
you let me catch my breath
and send me in the right direction.

I’ve kept my feet on the ground,
I’ve cultivated a quiet heart.
Like a baby content in its mother’s arms,
my soul is a baby content.
I’ve cultivated a quiet heart.
Like a baby content in its mother’s arms,
my soul is a baby content.

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment.
Never be without it.

good word, good verses. (and thank you for your kind comments over at my place 🙂
Lovely word and those are some of my favorite scriptures!
I love the word you have for this year. It would be a good word for me but God 'dropped' my word into my heart – and it was just right. Mine is 'Delight'! I think I need to be quiet often so I can delight. The verses you shared touched my heart.

Quiet in your heart and spirit…beautiful!
Hi Sharon – Thanks for visiting my blog. You asked about following … you know, I just haven't ever put out that "follow" button. I have a few followers, but that's because you can add my url to your own list of blogs you follow – it's just not quite as convenient. I have had a few people ask that same thing of me, so I think I should probably just do it, right?!
Nice to meet you!
Polly
