Psalm 116:1-2
I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
Can you even imagine the God of the Universe bending down to listen to the cries of those who are asking for mercy? (mercy means to have kindness or compassion)
Have you ever talked to a child and really got down to their level.
Perhaps bending a knee to get closer so you can hear them?
That is what this verse is saying.
He bends down to listen.
I would love the Lord even if I thought he didn’t listen
but isn’t it wonderful to know he does?
How powerful that is.
That we are important enough to have him listen.
He bends down to listen
when I whisper
when I cry
when I laugh
when I speak
when I sing
doesn’t it make your heart happy?
Oh that we can know and experience the deep love of God
and understand how important we are to him.
I will pray as long as I have breath~
because I know he hears me.
What a sweet picture, may we all be like children and trust in our Lord.
