At one point in time we had an old black dog named Samson and a grandson named Samuel.
One day when they were goofing around grandpa said in a very firm tone, “Sam sit down”.
And they both did.
From that moment on Samuel stayed the same and the dog was named Old black dog. (Obd)
It is just a sweet memory from a grandpa and grandma’s point of view.
A boy and a dog… spending some time together.
This last summer our old black dog went to doggie heaven.
He lived a good long life and he was happy and loved.
He was a pound dog and he knew he was rescued.

It is so hard to lose a pet. I know when our first dog died my husband and couldn't look at each other without tears in our eyes for quite a few weeks. But such faithful companions.
Our little Snowball is the life of the party.
Blessings to you,
Following you on Jumping Tandem.

A lovely, sweet story. Thanks for sharing that, Sharon. I can just picture it all happening. And the photo, so endearing. – Pam, apples of gold, http://wordglow.wordpress.com
A lovely story. It's always hard losing a pet, they are part of the family and the home never feels the same. We lost both our cats a couple of years ago, one was 23 and one was 16, both rescued and used to drive our little dog mad as they were bigger than her! We still think of them in their favourite places. Take care. Chel x
Ahhh I am sorry for your loss. Pets are so much a party of our family, losing one is like losing a member of the family. I pray for comfort during your healing process.
This is so precious!!! There is something special between a child and a dog!! What great friends and what a sweet memory!!
The loss of a pet is truly like the loss of a family member, because, frankly, they are our family members, sometimes even sweeter than our human companions. 😉
